The Spurs striker has admitted his unhappiness at failing to score from the spot against Basel on Thursday night, as the north London club crashed out of the Europa LeagueEmmanuel Adebayor has revealed his disappointment surrounding his penalty miss on Thursday night, as the striker failed to hit the target in Tottenham's 4-1 Europa League defeat on spot-kicks to Basel.
Andre Villas-Boas' side had taken the tie to extra-time and then a penalty shoot-out after 120 minutes of play saw the clubs level at 2-2, with Tottenham also being reduced to ten men, before Tom Huddlestone and Adebayor missed their penalties.
The striker admitted to reporters: "I have taken penalties for Arsenal, I have taken penalties for Real Madrid so it's a gamble.
"You miss or you score. I missed in this one. I am very disappointed, but that's football for you. You just have to keep focused and keep going.
"It's a tough one. Don't get me wrong. You run around for 120 minutes. You give everything you have in your stomach and you are tired.
"Then, at the end of the day you have to take a penalty. You play with 10 men for the last 30 minutes and on top of that you have to take a penalty and the pressure is there when you take the ball."
