thumbnail Hello,

The Canaries defender says Chris Hughton's side must target three points in all their remaining fixtures, starting with Saturday's meeting with Swansea at Carrow Road

Norwich defender Javier Garrido says his team-mates must aim for nothing less than victory in their remaining Premier League fixtures.

The Canaries currently sit in 14th place in the English top flight, just four points clear of the relegation zone alongside Southampton and Stoke.

And the Spaniard has called for Chris Hughton's side to avoid a nervy end to the campaign by getting points on the board - starting against Swansea on Saturday.

“The mentality has to be to go and win, that’s the main thing,” the 28-year old told the club’s official website.

“You can start thinking about the draw – a point is a point, but at home against Swansea, I think we can win if we do the things that we have to do.

“From the first minute we need to show, and our fans want to know, that we want to be at the top and that means being here in the Premier League next season.

“Norwich’s mentality has always been good – we try and do everything to be the best that we can. In general the team is confident about the situation we are in.”

The former Manchester City left-back went on to hail his side's next opponents, singling out countrymen Michu and Pablo Hernandez for praise.

“Michu has been brilliant for Swansea, and Hernandez has got ability on the ball - he’s a good player who is difficult to mark," he added.

“They have good individuals and they play good football. They’ve done it for a while, back to when Roberto Martinez was there.

“They won the League Cup which is important for them, and now they are in a comfortable position in the table. They don’t need the points as much as we do but I am pretty sure they will come here to show what they can do.”

Garrido, who is currently on a season-long loan from Serie A outfit Lazio, has made 30 starts for Norwich this term and says he would "love" to stay with the club if possible.

He continued: “I’ve said many times that I feel so comfortable here, and my main thing is to stay here as long as I can.

“We have to wait to see how Norwich City finish this season, but personally I would love to stay here because I’m happy."
