Pochettino: No problem between me and ex-Southampton boss Adkins

The 41-year-old, who took over the Saints back in January replacing the new Reading manager after his sacking, insists that there is no animosity between the pair now
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that there is no ill-feeling between himself and the club's former boss Nigel Adkins ahead of the visit of Reading on Saturday.

16/1 The Saints are 16/1 with William Hill to be relegated from the Premier League this season
The Argentine replaced Adkins in controversial circumstances at St Mary's Stadium back in January with the club enjoying a decent run of form, but since taking over he has since led the club to notable victories over the likes of Liverpol, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Adkins will return to the South Coast on Saturday, however, with Reading after replacing Brian McDermott at the Madejski Stadium after the 51-year-old's sacking.

"I have no problem with Nigel Adkins," Pochettino told reporters.

"I have full respect for him and for what he achieved at Southampton."

The Saints look to be heading away from the relegation zone ahead of the clash away at the Royals, sitting four points above the bottom three with eight games of the campaign left to play, while Adkins' new side are seven points from safety and bottom of the league.
