Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has admitted he was "embarrassed" to read rumours linking him with a return to West Ham.
The 66-year-old was in charge at Upton Park between 1994 and 2001, and reports suggested he could be heading back there at the end of the season.
And although current Hammers boss Sam Allardyce is nearing the end of his contract, Redknapp dismissed the notion of a return, instead placing his admiration for the 58-year-old on record.
"I was embarrassed when I read that," Redknapp told reporters.
"They've got a manager. Sam [Allardyce] has done a great job there and is talking about signing a new contract. They don't need me."
Allardyce admitted earlier this week that he is concentrating on keeping the Hammers in the Premier League before discussing a new deal.
