Taarabt could be key in QPR's bid for survival, says coach Bircham

The Moroccan midfielder played and scored for a Hoops XI against West Ham on Tuesday, and the club's Elite Development Squad's coach believes his performances will be crucial
QPR coach Marc Bircham believes Adel Taarabt could play a key role in the club's bid avoid relegation from the Premier League.

2/1 The Hoops are 2/1 with Coral to finish bottom of the Premier League this season
The midfielder was part of a Hoops side that faced West Ham at Upton Park on Tuesday, scoring a free kick in his team's 3-1 defeat, leaving Loftus Road legend Bircham impressed.

During the first-team's loss to Aston Villa at the weekend, the Moroccan appeared off the bench for Harry Redknapp's side and made a telling difference in attack and Bircham feels he still has much to offer after his showing in midweek.

He told club's official website: “It was a great goal from Adel. You’ll always get that from him, he’s always there wanting the ball.

“Sometimes he tries a lot of hard balls which might not always come off but then he’ll have that one bit of magic that does work.

“You see when he came on Saturday he played so well for the first team so hopefully we’ll start seeing the best of him again.”
