thumbnail Hello,

The Canaries have won just one of their last 10 Premier League games and their manager is demanding a swift improvement between now and the end of the season

Norwich manager Chris Hughton has called for the Canaries to determine their own Premier League safety before the end of the season.

Hughton’s men have won just once in the last 10 matches and will be looking to bounce back when they travel to Sunderland on Sunday.

"For as much as you’re looking at other results, and obviously when your game finishes that’s the first thing you look at, what hits home more than anything is that you have to look after your own results," Hughton told the Canaries’ official website.

12/1 Norwich are 12/1 with Bet365 to beat Sunderland 2-1 at the Stadium of Light on Sunday
"If they are good enough over a period of time, and of course for us that’s over the next nine games, then you don’t have to worry too much about the other teams around you.

"I think you do have to look at it that way because there are so many results that can go against you.

"It’s going to be a tough fight because it’s a tough place to go. Irrespective of form, they are a very good side.

"They’re playing at home so they’ll have a passionate crowd behind them, so any team that goes to the Stadium of Light knows that they’re in for a tough game."

Sunderland go into the match in a similar vein of form with just two wins in their last 10, the last of which was a 3-2 win away at Wigan at the end of January.

Hughton continued: "There are expectations up there because they are a very big club, a massive club.

"Their form isn’t the best at the moment, but they are a team playing at home against a team around them."
