The 25-year-old issues a rallying cry to his team-mates as the Canaries begin their run-in to escape relegation, currently sitting nine points clear of the drop

Robert Snodgrass has urged his Norwich City team-mates to make sure that they are up for the battle as they fight against relegation from the Premier League.

With 11 games remaining, the Canaries sit nine points above the drop-zone in 14th place. Their next match sees them travel to Sunderland, who are directly below Chris Hughton's men in the table.

Norwich also have to face Wigan, Reading and Aston Villa in the Premier League run-in and Snodgrass knows that they will have to fight to earn their Premier League survival.

"Every game is a battle. You don't go out there in the Premier League and get an easy game - never," the Scot told The Pink Un.

"I've not had it since I arrived here and from the feedback from the other players, they've not had it either.

"You need to bite and scratch, do everything you possibly can as an individual to try to do better than your opponent. That's what it takes for 11 men on the park - to roll your sleeves up and battle.

"It's dogged down at the bottom of the league. Everyone is fighting for points - you see QPR have just picked up and it opens things up again and they might think they've got a chance of staying up.

"Everybody's trying to avoid relegation. People can speak about second-season syndrome but we've beaten Manchester United and Arsenal and we're not saying it isn't tough.

"It doesn't get any easier as the games go on, especially when you're looking over your shoulder to see who's catching you."
