Reading owner Anton Zingarevich and temporary first-team coach Eamonn Dolan have met with the Royal's players and staff on Tuesday at their Hogwood park training ground according to a statement released on the club's official website.

The meeting comes in the wake of Brian McDermott’s sacking on Monday which also saw first-team coaches Nigel Gibbs and Yannis Anastasiou leave the club.

The Russian businessman thanked staff for their contributions and told the players it had been the hardest decision he has had to make. The statement also said that Zingarevich and McDermott were still on good terms after meeting on Monday.

Former academy manager Eamonn Dolan has been put in temporary charge of first-team affairs and held a series of meetings throughout the day in preparation for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Manchester United.

Reading travel to Old Trafford for the fixture against the league leaders as massive underdogs having lost their last five games in all competitions.
