Laudrup, meanwhile, has garnered praise after guiding the Swans to a first-ever major honour with the 5-0 Capital One Cup final triumph over Bradford City with a continuation of the free-flowing passing style first implemented by Roberto Martinez.
Such success, and an impressive performance in the Premier League, has prompted speculation over the Dane’s future at the Liberty Stadium, only for Laudrup to pen improved terms on Friday.
And the former Liverpool and Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier believes that the example set by Swansea since their promotion to England's top flight last season is encouraging for others in their position and the league as a whole.
