Newcastle boss Pardew expects Coloccini to return in two weeks

The Magpies manager is confident that his captain will be back playing competitive football soon after a back injury saw him ruled out of Saturday's defeat to Swansea City
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is hopeful that centre-back Fabricio Coloccini will be back in action within two weeks after missing Saturday's defeat to Swansea City.

9/5 Anzhi Makhachkala are 9/5 with BetVictor to score in both halves against Newcastle
The Argentine defender has made only 19 league starts this season, having been hampered by both injuries and personal issues that saw him nearly leave St James' Park in January.

Coloccini missed the Magpies' 1-0 loss at the Liberty Stadium with a back problem but Pardew is confident that the injury is not too serious.

"I don't think it's that worrying", Pardew told Sky Sports, "but it is a back injury, so we have to be careful.

"I think [he'll be back in] a couple of weeks."

The diagnosis means Coloccini will miss Newcastle's Europa League clash with Anzhi Makhachkala on Thursday but could be in line for a return against Wigan on March 17.
