The Norwich manager conceded that the Reds were too strong for his Canaries, but has urged his players to produce a better showing in their next game in the FA Cup against Luton

Norwich boss Chris Hughton expects a swift response from his players after Liverpool hammered the Canaries 5-0 on Saturday. Their next game sees them entertain Luton in the FA Cup, and the manager wants nothing less than a win.

Hughton's men have slipped to five defeats in six Premier League games, and are just seven points clear of safety with 15 games to go. Three wins preceded that dismal run of form though, and the former Newcastle boss is looking for more consistency from his side.

"What we were up against today was an extremely good Liverpool side," he told reporters on Saturday.

"They were very good and clinical. It's been a bad day for us and we need to dust ourselves down and make sure we are better for the next game.

"We need to get back on track. Sometimes you have to accept that, with the quality these teams have, if you have a bad day you can be well beaten."

Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool side were in devastating form over the course of the 90 minutes, with four different scorers finding the net before Norwich defender Ryan Bennett scored own goal late on.

After the cup tie against Luton, Norwich will face three London sides in a row in the Premier League, with Tottenham and Fulham going to Carrow Road either side of the Canaries' visit to bottom side QPR.
