The Nigerian has expressed his affection for the club, after being linked with joining strugglers QPR, stating that he is happy at The Hawthorns, with transfers out of his hands

Peter Odemwingie has been linked with a transfer away from West Brom in the January transfer window, with QPR among those interested, but after his goal earned his side a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa, he spoke of his love for his current club.

West Brom have been on a dismal run of form of late, with three straight defeats before Saturday's derby draw against Villa, and the Baggies sit in eighth place in the league as a result. However, the result against their local rivals pleased Odemwingie.

"It was a good point for us," Odemwingie told ESPN. "From 2-0 down, coming out with a point was good. We could have scored a third one but I think the manager is pleased with a point."

When asked about the recent transfer gossip surrounding his future at the club, Odemwingie was quick to dismiss any desire to leave the Baggies, stating that it was out of his hands.

"I'm not the one deciding this. Nothing abnormal is going on. Players move clubs," he continued.

"An offer was made and I was thinking about having to secure my own future in the Premier League, which is my desire."

"So we had a good talk with the club and now I'm here and I would say that it's a club that I love with all my heart."

Albion manager Steve Clarke is believed to be keen to hold on to the Nigeria international, who wasn't selected for his country for the Africa Cup of Nations despite some excellent performances in recent seasons in the Premier League.
