The interim Blues manager believes that chasing down leaders Manchester United is too much of an ask for his squad this year but insists that they can still win trophiesChelsea boss Rafa Benitez has admitted defeat in the Premier League title race this season but still believes that his side can compete to win the Capital One Cup, FA Cup and Europa League trophies.
A 2-2 draw with Southampton on Wednesday left the Blues 13 points adrift of league leaders Manchester United, with the club's home form in particular becoming a problem for the interim manager.
However, Benitez argues that it is simply a question of giving his players the belief to begin winning games and is confident that the return of influential duo Frank Lampard and John Terry will help his side push on for silverware.

"I just have to give the team the confidence that we can win against anyone. If you have that belief it becomes easier.
"The team is very close. We have Terry and Lampard back from injury. Now we have to be more consistent."
Chelsea squandered a two-goal lead against relegation battlers Southampton in midweek and Benitez observed that his team must work harder to crush the belief of their opponents in order to succeed.
"The team are scoring a lot of goals, as we expect them to, but we have to manage this advantage in a better way," the Spaniard continued.
"We have to be more clinical. We have to defend as a unit, as a team, be more compact, and not give them [the opposition] any hope they can score."
