The Romanian international has impressed whilst deputising for the injured Jonas Olsson and hopes he can prove he deserves a new contract at the Hawthorns
The Romanian only featured 8 times for the Baggies last season, but has started the last three games for Steve Clarke’s side due to Jonas Olsson’s injury.
Tamas had been a European journeyman before his move to West Brom, with spells in Turkey, Russia, Spain and France spliced between three separate stints with Dinamo Bucharest, before finally settling at the Hawthorns, where he insists he is now enjoying his football and is keen to stay beyond 2014.

“I am pleased with my form. I have the rest of this year and next season left of my contract.
“Would I like to stay longer? Why not? I enjoy myself here and I like the club.Let's hope they can agree to something and I can stay here."
Tamas also revealed his satisfaction with Saturday's 1-1 draw in the third round of the FA Cup at Loftus Road, despite Kieron Dyer’s stoppage time equaliser forcing a replay.
“It was a tough finish and it was too bad that we conceded a goal in the last minute,” he added. "But that is football. What can you do?
“We played well and defended very well and we scored with 10 minutes to play. But what happened afterwards was just football.
“We didn’t go there to put on a show, we went there to get a result – whether it be a win or a draw."
The 29 year-old feels a draw is a good result, and is backing the Baggies to build on their impressive home record by seeing off QPR at the Hawthorns and progress to the fourth round.
“Now they need to come to our home and we have played well there so far this season," he continued.
“We have played better at home than away at times during the campaign. We went to QPR and did our job. We didn’t lose and that’s what FA Cup games are about.
“If you go away you have to make sure you don’t lose. We want to win every game and in the FA Cup, if you win six games you win the trophy, so why not go for it?”
