The Reds' third strike at Upton Park was originally credited as an own goal by Hammers centre-back James Collins but has been reassigned by the dubious goals panel

Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has been awarded his side's winning goal in the recent 3-2 victory over West Ham by the FA's dubious goals panel.

The Reds' third goal took a sizeable deflection off Hammers defender James Collins before looping over Jussi Jaaskelainen, with replays proving inconclusive as to whether Shelvey touched the ball beforehand.

However, the strike has now been credited to the 20-year-old, who was deployed in a 'false nine' role for the Merseyside outfit's visit to Upton Park.

The former Charlton man has now scored five goals in 25 appearances for Brendan Rodgers' side this term.
