Petric confident ahead of 'big' west London derby against QPR

The Croatian believes his side have found form having previously gone seven games without a win and are ready to show that when they make the short trip to Loftus Road
Fulham striker Mladen Petric has stated his side are full of confidence ahead of their west London derby meeting with QPR.

The Cottagers had gone seven games without a win prior to their 2-1 victory over Newcastle on Monday, and the Croatian believes they now have momentum ahead of the busy Christmas period.

“It’s a big game,” he told the club’s official website. “It was important for us to get the win against Newcastle. We’d gone seven games without a win so the victory gives us confidence ahead of QPR.”

However, Petric remains wary of the Rs, who sit bottom of the table but have been revitalised by the arrival of new manager Harry Redknapp.

He added: “I am surprised they are struggling. But it’s like a boxer when he’s a bit stunned, he can still be dangerous. QPR haven’t won a game this season but there will be a time when they do and we have to make sure it isn’t against us.

“We have to take care, make sure we concentrate on the game and that will give us a good chance.

“It would be nice to win for the Fulham fans, as well, because they have been fantastic. They support us everywhere we go. It would be good to give them three points as an early Christmas present.”
