The Canaries goalkeeper was forced off with a thigh problem in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park and his club have confirmed that he will be out until the New Year
The 26-year-old was forced off shortly before the full-time whistle at Goodison Park and the Canaries revealed the extent of the injury on Twitter prior to Wednesday's match against Southampton.
"City can confirm 'keeper @Johnruddy86 has a thigh injury which is being assessed, but he could be out for approximately 3 months," the club Tweeted.

Mark Bunn was named as his replacement in the match against Nigel Adkins' side at St. Mary's Stadium and Ruddy wrote on Twitter: "Just to update everyone on my injury, unfortunately I have torn my thigh will be having surgery on Saturday and out for up to 3 months."
