The Liverpool boss spent two years in charge of the Swans before moving to Anfield and the Spanish full-back expects his former manager to be well received by fans
Rodgers spent two successful years in charge of the Welsh club, guiding them to promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs and then comfortably staving off relegation.
And, although Rangel expects the Northern Irish manager to be received warmly, he insists his side won’t hold back in their quest for victory.
"Brendan is going to have a very warm welcome from everyone, he did wonderful things for the club,” the Spanish full-back told the club’s official website.
"We are all looking forward to the game, especially after a win. It's going to be a tough game because they are doing well and we can't forget they are a massive club.
"But we are very confident we can win the game.”
Rodgers has already begun replicating the passing style that characterised his Swansea team, and Rangel believes the Reds pose a different threat as a result.
"It's a different Liverpool to the one we played last season - they did not keep the ball like they do now,” he added.
"We know what the manager likes and they have some top-class players, but we will be confident and hopefully we can get the win.”
