Despite Saints' trip to Loftus Road being dubbed 'El Sackico', the 47-year-old has shrugged off suggestions that defeat could cost either side's manager their job
With both teams struggling at the foot of the Premier League table, speculation is rife that defeat in the game at Loftus Road could cost the losing manager his job.
However, Adkins is confident the meeting isn't quite as make or break as people are led to believe.
"I'm pretty sure come Monday that both managers will still be in situ," Adkins told BBC Sport. "I think there are two good managers and two good football clubs.

Adkins is currently odds-on favourite to be the first top-flight boss to be axed but the former Scunthorpe boss is not placing too much importance on the next game.
"It's just the next game in the journey that we're on," he added.. "Every game that you look at has three points up for grabs. That's what we've got to go and do. We've already established that we're at the wrong end of the league table.
"It's a tough league that we're in, we're well aware of that, but one we love being in and one we expect to be in for many, many years to come."
