Baggies boss Steve Clarke confirmed that the number one would not be rushed back following last week’s minor surgery, with Boaz Myhill expected to continue deputising at the Hawthorns.
The Scot remains optimistic that the former England goalkeeper will be fit to return for next week’s trip to Sunderland, but admitted he does have "one or two" injury concerns elsewhere.
However, Clarke has been boosted by the news that Youssouf Mulumbu is fit, despite withdrawing from the Democratic Republic of Congo squad with a hamstring injury picked up against Wigan.
"I hope I will be fit," the midfielder told the Express and Star.
"After Wigan I felt something in my hamstring and we didn't want to take any risks with me going to the international and coming back tired or with an injury.
