The Spaniard has been absent since October with a hamstring injury and was not risked against Ajax on Wednesday but is ready to make his comeback at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City playmaker David Silva is in contention to face Tottenhamon Sunday after returning to full training.
The Spain star has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury on international duty in October but Goal.com has learned that City are hopeful he will be fit to start against Andre Villas-Boas' men.

The worry had been that Silva might suffer a recurrence of the hamstring problem that prompted his absence but that is expected to no longer be such a concern for the Spurs game, after he continued his training regime at Carrington this week.
"He could be ready for Tottenham, maybe to play half an hour", said Mancini ahead of City's damaging draw with the Dutch champions.
"The problem for Silva is that for three years he has played every three days, and when he should take a rest for three or four days he goes with the national team to Panama or Venezuela. Some players need to rest. It's impossible to play and to travel all the time."
The former Valencia man has made 10 appearances in all competitions so far this season, registering a single assist in the Premier League.
