The Red Devils announce that the unveiling of a sculpture of the Scottish boss outside their Old Trafford home will take place prior to November's clash with QPR

Manchester United are set to unveil a statue of manager Sir Alex Ferguson outside Old Trafford prior to their clash with QPR on November 24.

The sculpture, which was commissioned in 2011 to mark the veteran boss' 26-year spell at the helm, will be housed near the entrance to the stadium's North Stand - itself recently renamed after the Scot.

The following day, United play host to QPR, who not only boast an Old Trafford great in Mark Hughes as their current manager but were also the visitors for Sir Alex's first-ever home game in charge back in November 1986.
