thumbnail Hello,

The Saints boss is adamant that supporters should unite behind the team and be patient that their poor early form in the Premier League will turn around in due course

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins has called for supporters to remain patient as he believes that results will turn around in due course.

The newly promoted side sit 19th in the Premier League table and have failed to pick up a win since mid-September, losing 3-0 on the road to Championship outfit Leeds United in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

But Adkins praised the Saints faithful's enthusiasm and loyalty despite recent results not having gone their way.

"The fans have been fantastic," he told the Southern Daily Echo. "Even at the weekend the supporters were outstanding and the ones that travelled to Leeds got behind the players all the time.

"All of us want nothing more than the success of Southampton football club, we're all striving for the same thing and that's the important aspect."
