The Serbian defender has been out since September after suffering a recurrence of a long-standing knee injury but is closing in on a comeback over the festive periodManchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that captain Nemanja Vidic is expected to return to action in December.
The Serbian defender, who had previously recovered from cruciate ligament damage, has been out since suffering a further knee injury in September.
Goal.com revealed last month that United would not be taking any risks with their injury-plagued skipper and Ferguson appears to be sticking to that plan by delaying the 31-year-old's return.
"I think we're talking around December for Vidic," Ferguson told MUTV.
"Maybe around Christmas time."
Vidic has been with the Manchester club since 2006, but was recently linked with a big-money move to Anzhi Makhachkala.
