thumbnail Hello,

The Potters wideman has not started a Premier League game since the opening day but impressed sufficiently as a substitute during Saturday's draw with Sunderland

Stoke manager Tony Pulis has revealed that Matthew Etherington could potentially start Saturday's game against Norwich.

The 31-year-old hasn't made the Potters' starting line-up in the Premier League since the opening day but enjoyed an impressive cameo in last weekend's draw with Sunderland.

12/1 Matthew Etherington is 12/1 with Paddy Power to score the first goal for Stoke against Norwich on Saturday

And Pulis has admitted that the Englishman may have played himself into contention ahead of a trip to Carrow Road.

“I thought he was very good last Saturday," he told reporters. "Over the last couple of weeks Matty has shown what he's all about.

"He's very, very close to us thinking about starting with him again.

"I'm pleased he played well against Sunderland. Matty needs to be loved and I think he felt that love on Saturday.

"When he made a couple of runs, which the crowd always love to see, they really warmed to him.

"The crowd just love him when he runs at people and hopefully he can now get back to what he was a year ago."
