thumbnail Hello,

The Belgium international has been out since injuring his knee against Wigan earlier this month but is expected to feature in Sunday's derby after training for the past two days

Everton talisman Marouane Fellaini is poised to make an unexpected return to the first-team squad in time for the Merseyside derby against Liverpool.

The midfielder has been out of action since suffering a knee injury against Wigan on October 6, which forced the 24-year-old to miss Belgium’s World Cup qualifying wins against Serbia and Scotland as well as Everton’s 1-1 with QPR on Sunday.

Fellaini has responded quicker to treatment than expected, and domestic and international team-mate Kevin Mirallas believes the addition of the midfielder will worry their rivals.

"I think he will be playing on Sunday, and it will be important for him to play because he is scary for the other team," said told reporters.

"It would is a real psychological asset for us to have Marouane available, because of the impact he has - people in the opposition fear him.

"He is a fantastic player and when he's not there it's harder for the team to get good results."

Fellaini’s return coincides with the return of Darron Gibson, who is expected to fit enough for a place on the bench, and Tony Hibbert is available again to give manager David Moyes a near full-strength squad.
