The Royals were outplayed by Liverpool in the first half of their 1-0 defeat at Anfield on Saturday and were lucky to only be a single goal down as the sides headed in at the break.

"In the second half we gave it a bit of a go but in the first half we were nowhere near it," he told The Sun.
"We can't expect to win games in this league against teams like this on the back of 45 minutes of decent play.
"In the second half we showed we can compete and there’s enough there for us to remain positive. It's just about putting a whole performance together."
Reading currently sit 19th in the Premier League, having failed to achieve a win in seven attempts this campaign. They will play host to Fulham in their next fixture on Saturday.
