The former Leeds man believes the summer arrival from Crewe is one of the best players, in terms of technical ability, at Villa Park and expects him to make an impact this season
Westwood moved to Villa Park from Crewe this summer, after playing a key role in the Railwaymen's promotion from League Two last season.
The 22-year-old is already one of the club's best technicians according to Delph, who made a similar move, when he switched League One life with Leeds to join Villa.

"Ashley is a terrific player technically and he is up there with the best in our team," Delph told the club's official website.
"When I was playing at Leeds, I was playing two games a week and I was comfortable. The step up when you come here is massive.
"Myself and Westy are the same age so we can relate to each other. I can see him getting a run in the team very soon and doing well.
"That is the thing with the lower leagues - you play twice a week most of the time and the physical side of it is really up there. Everybody is fit.
"When you make the step up it is a bit nicer but it is a lot more technical and you have to adjust to that. You don't do that overnight but to be fair the players we have brought in, like Westy, have adapted really well.
"Everybody is in it together and with the squad we've got, there is an average age of 22 or 23. We are all young lads with fire in our bellies and everybody wants to help each other and push on."
