Both Brendan Rodgers and Tony Pulis have named unchanged teams after enjoying victories over Norwich City and Swansea City in their Premier League fixtures last weekend
Brendan Rodgers has picked the same side that ran out 5-2 winners against Norwich City last week, with Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Nuri Sahin all recalled after sitting out during the midweek Europa League fixture.
The Northern Irishman has made eight changes in total from the side that narrowly lost 3-2 to Udinese on Thursday night. Stewart Downing, however, has been left out completely despite an encouraging performance against the Italian side, again raising questions as to the future of the England international on Merseyside.
Meanwhile, former Liverpool striker Michael Owen has been left out of Stoke's squad altogether, with reports indicating that the forward is suffering from a minor injury.
Tony Pulis starting XI is unchanged from the team that recorded a 2-0 victory over Swansea City last week, with Peter Crouch looking to build on the brace he netted against the Swans on his return to his old hunting ground.
Liverpool starting XI: Reina; Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson; Allen, Gerrard, Sahin; Suso, Suarez, Sterling. Subs: Jones, Henderson, Cole, Assaidi, Coates, Borini, Carragher.
Stoke starting XI: Begovic; Cameron, Shawcross, Huth, Wilson; Walters, Whelan, N'Zonzi, Adam, Kightly; Crouch. Subs: Sorensen, Jones, Edu, Whitehead, Upson, Etherington, Jerome.
