Howson 'sure' Norwich will pick up first league win soon

The Canaries have performed well in games so far this season but are yet to pick up a Premier League victory under Chris Hughton, ahead of Saturday's clash with Liverpool
Norwich City midfielder Jonny Howson is confident that the Canaries will soon pick up their first Premier League win of the season, if they continue their recent performances.

Chris Hughton's side narrowly overcame League One side Doncaster in their midweek League Cup tie, and Howson hopes the side can take momentum from that game into their weekend clash with Liverpool at Carrow Road.

"Like us they’d have probably liked a few more points on the board," the former Leeds captain told the Canaries' official website. "But it’s still early days and we’re aware of the threats that they’ve got.

"It’s just about getting those three points, and we played well at Newcastle, so there are positives there and as I said we are creating chances, but the only frustrating thing is not picking up the points.

"There are no signs of lads dropping their heads or confidence being low around the place, so it’s still there and we’re a close-knit bunch so there’s no reason for it to happen.

"It was a good performance against Doncaster. The lads did what was asked of them, we’re through to the next round and we got a clean sheet at home as well.

"It’s a bit frustrating because we seem to keep saying the same things – we’re playing well, creating chances, and causing problems for the opposition.

"Regarding the season it’s still early days, and if we keep playing like we are, I’m sure it’ll come eventually."
