Rooney is happy with the amount of talented forwards available at the club, as it means that he can compete to show to his worth to the manager, but it also means that he will get more rests if necessary to prepare for the big games at the end of the season.

"There are a lot of games throughout the season. It means we can get a rest here and there to make sure we are ready for the big games towards the end."
Rooney returned from last month's horror leg injury in the League Cup win over Newcastle at Old Trafford, and having made a positive start, the England striker feels that his season is starting over again after only appearing in two Premier League games this season.
"It was a freak injury and whilst it wasn't too bad, I had to be careful when I came back training and in games because it could open up again," he added.
"There is only so much you can do in the gym. You need that training and game time to get you to your full sharpness.
"I am glad to be over it and back playing."
