thumbnail Hello,

The 21-year-old Belgium international is currently on loan at Werder Bremen but wants his chance in England, and is confident he can return and challenge for a place

Chelsea midfielder Kevin de Bruyne insists he is good enough to play for the Blues, and believes he will stay in England even if he does not get his chance at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old, currently on a season-long loan with Werder Bremen, is yet played a competitive match for Roberto Di Matteo’s side since signing from Genk in January.

Despite his lack of experience, De Bruyne is confident he can become a Premier League regular, and knows he will be coming back to London at the end of the season to fight for his place in the team.

"I know that I have to come back," he told Bild.

"Chelsea believes in me and there is unfortunately no chance for Werder to extend the loan. If I have no chance there [at Chelsea] after this time, I have to stay in England.

"To lend me again abroad is no option for Chelsea."

The Belgium international featured in Chelsea’s tour of the United States in the summer before being shipped out to Germany, and is confident he can live up to his £7 million price tag and force his way into contention once he returns.

When asked if he is good enough for Chelsea, De Bruyne said: "Why not? I am confident to play a good role there, too.

"Even though I still have to get used to the style of play, I have no problems with the level in the Bundesliga.

"Maybe some people are suprised about that. I'm not. In the summer I played the preparation with Chelsea. The level was even higher there. This made it easier for me."
