The Norway international has described the former Manchester United striker's arrival as "amazing" and has underlined the squad's desire to help their new team-mate settle
Berbatov was the subject of a frantic deadline day move to Craven Cottage from Manchester United, despite having appeared close to joining Serie A sides Juventus and Fiorentina.
And Norway national team captain Riise believes attracting players of the Bulgarian's quality is indicative of the club's progression under manager Martin Jol.
"For Fulham to have a player like him at the club is amazing," he told the club's official website. "It just proves that we're working hard to push the club forward.
"He came in and scored two goals on his home debut and you can't ask for more than that. He's settling in well and all the boys are pleased to have him in the team."
The former Liverpool man also vowed that his team-mates would continue to help the new arrival settle in quickly so that he can maintain his good start.
"We'll try and make it as easy for him as possible at his new club," he added.
