The 31-year-old, who netted a double against West Brom in his first start on Saturday, thinks he can do "special things" at Craven Cottage in order to re-pay the faith shown in him

The ex-Manchester United forward joined the Cottagers in the transfer window for a fee reported to be around £5 million, before publicly indicating he had "lost respect" for Red Devils' boss Sir Alex Ferguson for the way he was treated during his final season at Old Trafford after registering just five Premier League appearances.
However, after making the move to west London in August, the 31-year-old has instantly settled in at Craven Cottage, scoring twice in his full debut against West Brom on Saturday.
The former Tottenham man, who played under Jol at White Hart Lane, revealed that he is confident of impressing for his new side due to the trust shown in him by the Dutchman, adding he hopes to pay back that faith.
"If I feel the coach is trusting my ability then I can do special things on the pitch," he told reporters.
"Now that I play for Fulham, I just want to show that I appreciate that they took me to the club. I know the coach, he trusts me.
"I feel good if the coach trusts the way I play and you saw that with the way I performed on the pitch."
