Goal.com readers split on whether Arsenal are genuine title contenders

Arsene Wenger's side have started the season in decent form, going unbeaten in their opening four league games, but tougher tests await them, with Manchester City on the horizon
More than 50% of readers still are not convinced that Arsenal are genuine title contenders this season, despite remaining unbeaten in the league so far this campaign.

After dispatching Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield before the international break, Arsene Wenger's side followed that up with a scintillating performance in their dominant 6-1 win over newly-promoted Southampton to move into third in the table behind rivals Manchester United and Chelsea.

However, despite the club's strong start to the season, 47.97% believe that until they prove themselves against tough opposition, with reigning champions Manchester City their next game, it is too early to truly tell how good they are.

On the other hand, 42.6% think that after their performance over Nigel Adkins' struggling side that Arsenal are the real deal this season and represent a real threat to the two Manchester clubs and Roberto Di Matteo's outfit.

That left just 9.42% to definitively rule Arseal out from challenging for the title this term as they seek to end a seven-year trophy drought.

After a summer of upheaval on and off the pitch, Wenger's charges look to have settled well into life without Robin van Persie and the form of new boys Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla has been pivotal in their form recently.
