The Atletico Madrid star's father had suggested that his son desires a move across the Spanish capital but the Colombian striker has been quick to refute the claims

Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has distanced himself from suggestions that he dreams of playing for Real Madrid.

On Wednesday, the forward's father, Radamel Garcia King, told Colombian radio programme El Gran Debate de Todelar: "His dream is to one day play for Real Madrid. Always, since childhood, he has wanted to play there."

However, the 26-year-old has reaffirmed his commitment to Los Rojiblancos and dismissed rumours that he wants a move across the Spanish capital.

Prior to his son's rebuttal, Garcia also claimed that the Premier League would be his son's next choice should a move to Los Blancos fail to come to fruition.

"Other international football teams like Manchester City and Chelsea have been interested in him. If he cannot go to Madrid, then he would go to English football," he continued.

"Above all, he wants to go to Madrid. He will change his team at the end of the season.
