And, though Robert Snodgrass' last-gasp equaliser snatched a point for the Canaries and denied Dembele a dream start, Villas-Boas is confident that the Belgian will be instrumental for his side this campaign.
"Mousa looked extremely good and it was a great finish," he told the club's official website.
"He's a player who has tremendous technical skills, very creative playing forward and he really improved our game in the second half.
"He's a player we can count on for the season."
