He then stated that the 100m world-record holder could be invited to represent the team in a friendly next summer.
Ferguson told Inside United magazine: "We're going to get him up. He's been here a couple of times and he did help Cristiano Ronaldo with his sprinting, like he said. He took him aside one day.
"Usain's a character and a big United fan.
"But it's interesting he says he'd like to play in a charity game. It could be brilliant, and next year when we play Real Madrid's Legends again, there could be opportunities to bring him up and see how he does.

The United manager then revealed his delight at the sprinter's performances at the London 2012 Olympics, and stated that he had put money on the Jamaican to retain his 100m and 200m gold medals.
He added: "Bolt was 4/5 to win each of them, the 100 metres and 200 metres, a week before the tournament started. It was a brilliant bet, I couldn't believe it!
"He's the fastest man in the world and the others would have to have taken half a second off their running to beat him. He's phenomenal!"Previously Bolt, 25, has trained with the Manchester United squad and even said that he would be willing to leave athletics for a spot in the Red Devils' team.
The game is set to be played on June 3 2013 at Old Trafford following last year's success which saw the proceeds support Real Madrid's Foundation work currently taking place in Africa.
