Heskey left Aston Villa at the end of last season and has been unsuccessful in his attempts to find a new club over the summer.
But now the former England striker is determined to get back into football and hopes to join a new team as soon as possible, after turning down several offers over the summer. He told reporters:"I feel as fit and hungry as I have done in a long time and have been training everyday throughout the summer.
"As has been reported I did receive a number of offers during the transfer window but didn't feel like any of them were the right opportunity for me at that time.
"I'm now looking forward to hopefully securing a new club over the coming days."
