Stuart Pearce will be without the services of two key players in his upcoming fixture away in Baku, with the Manchester City and Nottingham Forest midfielders ruled out with injury
The Manchester City midfielder, who has represented England twice at senior level, reported a strain in the aftermath of his club's 3-2 win against QPR at the weekend.
Lansbury on the other hand, is more of a long-term concern, and the former Arsenal man, who has just moved to Nottingham Forest, suffered from an ankle injury during pre-season and he has not yet fully recovered.
Head coach Stuart Pearce has allowed both players to remain with their clubs for the time being and they both hope to be fit to return to the squad for their final qualifying game at home to Norway at Chesterfield's Proact Stadium on Monday 10 September.
England currently sit top of their group with just two games left to play, two points ahead of Norway in the play-off spot, on 15 points altogether from their opening six games.
