Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hopes that injured pair Jack Wilshere and Bacary Sagna will return to full training by the end of September.

England international Wilshere has not played a competitive game since May 2011 after a number of injuries had ruled him out for ther whole of last season, while full-back Sagna suffered a broken leg in May 2012 which ruled him out of Euro 2012 for France.

Wilshere, who has taken the iconic number 10 shirt after the departure of Robin Van Persie, was a vital part of Arsenal's 2010-11 squad and also won his first England cap after a string of impressive performances.

The Gunners boss announced the news at a press conference ahead of their away trip to Liverpool on Sunday afternoon. Centre-back Laurent Koscielny returns to the squad after recovering for a calf injury.

Talking about the injury update of Tomas Rosicky, Wenger said: "Getting our injured players back like Wilshere and Rosicky is the best way to strengthen our squad."

"After the international break they should not be too far away from training."
