The defender is delighted with the Black Cats' most recent acquisitions and admits his relief at not having to face the Manchester City winger on the pitch any more
Johnson assisted both of James McClean’s two goals in Tuesday’s 2-0 win for Sunderland over Morecambe in the League Cup and the defender is relieved that he will not have to face the winger on the pitch any more.
Both Johnson and Fletcher were signed last Friday by the Black Cats, for combined total of over £20 million and Bramble believes the pair, and additional summer signings Louis Saha and Carlos Cuellar, bring much needed depth and competition to the Sunderlandsquad.

“The signings have given the place a lift – I could tell that as soon as I walked into the building,” Bramble told the club’s official website.
“I’ve played against Adam many times before and it’s definitely better to be playing with him than against him!
“In Adam, Steven Fletcher, Louis Saha and Carlos Cuellar we’ve got four fantastic players and I’m looking forward to working with them.
“We need competition in every position because it keeps the lads on their toes.
“You have to be sharp in training because if you lose your place you know it could be three or four weeks, or more, until you’re back in the side.”
