The Dane took charge of his new side in the Premier League for the first time against QPR, and things could not have got off to a better side as the Welsh claimed a 5-0 victory
Two goals apiece for Michu and Nathan Dyer and one for Scott Sinclair ensured that Laudrup's first game in charge of the Swans ended in a memorable victory at Loftus Road.
Swansea had to wait until their 10th away fixture for their first win on the road last season, and Laudrup believes that the result will be a huge boost to his squad.
"It's just the thing we needed, to start like that. Confidence is very important and you could already see it in the players in the last third of the game," the Dane told BBC Sport.
"Everybody - every player, manager and club - starts a new season a little doubtful. Last season Swansea won their first away game in January so it's fantastic.
"We all know there will be bad days and bad weeks, maybe even a bad month. We know there will be worse days but nobody can take away what we have achieved and the confidence it gives us for the future."
Three of the club's summer signings - Michu, Chico and Jonathan de Guzman - made their debuts against QPR, and Laudrup was pleased with their immediate impact.
"Michu - two goals and the second one was a fantastic goal," he said.
"I've worked with two of the players, Chico and Jonathan de Guzman, and I've seen Michu many times. Apart from their quality as players, I know more or less their personalities.
"They are players who want to show a great attitude and that's important as well because they are coming to a small team over here.
"But they have integrated perfectly in only five or six weeks and that's important for me as well as a manager."
