Max Ehmer has signed a four-year contract extension at Queens Park Rangers.

The Frankfurt-born academy product has been at the club since the age of eleven, with his new terms now lasting until 2016.

The versatile Ehmer, predominantly a centre-half, spent much of the last two seasons on loan in League One at Preston North End and Yeovil Town and spoke his delight of securing his future.

“I’m really pleased. It’s an amazing feeling to be signing a new deal at such an exciting time in the club’s future,” Ehmer told the club’s official website.

“This summer has been my first proper involvement with the first team and I’ve enjoyed every moment.

“It’s a great place to be around at the moment – everything you could ask for as a young professional.”

After gaining experience on loan, Ehmer hopes to be given a chance to impress with the first team, and is eagerly anticipating the start of the under-21 setup.

“I’ve been in and around the first team over the last few years and now I want to step that up a level,” he continued.

“Any experience I can have at first team level this season will be beneficial.

“Aside from that, the under-21 league will be a big opportunity for me to develop further and that can only help in the long term.”
