Hazard hails Chelsea colleague Torres as one of the world's best strikers

The Blues' new signing backs the forward to excel in the new season after he opened the 2012-13 campaign with his side's first goal in the Community Shield against Manchester City
Chelsea star Eden Hazard has hailed striker Fernando Torres as one of the best in the world and is backing him to show his best form in the new campaign.

The Spaniard has struggled since joining the Blues from Liverpool in January 2011 but began to hit form at the end of the 2011-12 season, going on to win the Golden Boot at Euro 2012.

The forward is looking to live up to his £50 million fee and fill the void left by Dider Drogba, who left for Shanghai Shenhua earlier in the summer, and opened his account for the season with the first goal in Sunday's Community Shield, though 10-man Chelsea eventually lost 3-2 to Manchester City.

"It was a great finish, and I know a lot more will come." Hazard told Sky Sports News of his team-mate's strike.

"Fernando is one of the best strikers in the world - quick and powerful and very efficient in front of goal."

The Belgium international joined the Blues for £32m from Lille and could make his Premier League debut against Wigan in the season opener.
