The controversial midfielder has been linked with a host of Championship clubs after falling out of favour at Loftus Road but the Tangerines have distanced themselves from a move
Ian Holloway has played down reports linking Blackpool with a move for QPR midfielder Joey Barton.
The 29-year-old, who was hit with a 12-game ban by the FA for his conduct in the Rs' 3-2 defeat to Manchester City in the final game of last season, has been training with League Two outfit Fleetwood Town after he was left out of his parent club's tour of Asia this summer.
It has been reported that the former Newcastle man could move to a lower league side in order to serve part of his ban but a six-month loan deal to join the Cod Army collapsed on Saturday.

But Holloway has dismissed recent speculation that the Seasiders were interested in a similar move.
He told the Blackpool Gazette: "I haven't got a clue where the Joey Barton rumours came from. I can't sign someone who I couldn't pick for 12 matches.
"If you look at the central midfield players I have, that's not the area I need players. I need strikers. Joey's a great lad but I don't know where that talk came from."
