Barcelona centre-back Gerard Pique is the latest player to welcome any potential move that the club may make for Arsenal midfielder Alex Song this summer.
Following hot on the heels of similar declarations from both Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets recently, Pique has stated that he has been following the career of the Cameroon international for quite some time, and believes that he has the necessary skills to fit into Barcelona's style of play.
"I have followed his career and he has become a very good player," Pique told El Mundo Deportivo.
"He is physically very strong and is good with the ball at his feet. We are open to his arrival."
Song enjoyed an excellent campaign last season at the heart of the Arsenal midfield, as he went on to finish the season with 14 assists to his name across all competitions, but Barcelona are thought to be keen to keep the cost of any such deal down to around £15 million mark.
If Song were to move to the Spanish side, he would follow in the footsteps of the likes of Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Thierry Henry, Alexander Hleb and Cesc Fabregas who have made the same switch in recent years.
