Barcelona boss Vilanova refuses to discuss Song link

The Catalan giants are reportedly interested in bringing the Cameroonian midfielder to Camp Nou this summer, but their coach is remaining coy on the issue
Barcelona boss Tito Vilanova has remained coy on recent links with a move for Arsenal midfielder Alex Song.

The 24-year-old has been rumoured to have caught the eye of the Catalan outfit, as they look to strengthen in a bid to regain the La Liga title from fierce rivals Real Madrid.

The Spanish club's star midfielder Andres Iniesta also revealed his admiration for the Cameroonian to reporters, but expressed uncertainty over whether a move was in the offing.

However, Vilanova, who succeeded Pep Guardiola in the Barcelona hot seat this summer, has insisted he will not discuss other players out of respect.

"I don't like talking about players who are not in our squad," said Vilanova when asked about Song.

"There are many players outside of Barca who I like and I cannot talk about them. It would be a lack of respect to other clubs."

Song made his Premier League debut in 2005 and has gone on to appear on over 200 occasions for the north London club.
