Swansea boss Laudrup refuses to comment on Obertan link

The former Manchester United winger had an encouraging start to his Newcastle career, but the return to fitness of Hatem Ben Arfa saw playing time cut and could be Wales-bound

Following Swansea’s 4-2 win against Blackpool on Tuesday night, Swans boss Michael Laudrup refused to be drawn on reports linking Newcastle’s Gabriel Obertan with a move to Wales.

The winger featured prominently for the Magpies during the first-half of last season following a move from Manchester United, but with the re-emergence of Hatem Ben Arfa after injury, the former Bordeaux youngster struggled for playing time.

Laudrup is still believed to be on the lookout for new players, with Scott Sinclair being linked with a move to Manchester City, but the former Barcelona and Real Madrid player was staying coy on the subject.

Speaking to reporters at the Liberty Stadium, the Dane said: "Speculation about players coming in, I don't want to comment on that.

"It is better for me to say I don't comment on rumours, I can comment on things about our players as it is different.

"When something is near or is done then you can ask me all you want."
