Fresh from his medal-winning exploits, the sprinter could fulfill his aim of playing for the Red Devils after the club’s centre-back got in touch to discuss a possible tryout
Current 100 metre Olympic champion Usain Bolt has revealed that Rio Ferdinand has contacted him over a potential trial with Manchester United and plans to discuss the possibility in a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Jamaican has previously spent time at the club’s training complex and recently admitted he would find it impossible to turn down the chance to play for the Red Devils.
And he could now be one step closer to playing for the club he supports after confirming veteran defender Ferdinand had been in contact with him.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Bolt revealed: "Rio Ferdinand has tweeted me and says he will hook me up for a trial so I am looking forward to that.
“I went to Old Trafford once, we didn't talk extensively about me coming there, but Rio is going to set the meeting up and I will talk to Sir Alex Ferguson."
The 25-year-old is hoping to defend his Olympic 200m title at London after successfully winning the 100m in 9.63 seconds.
